Reading FC graduate Conor Lawless has left Dagenham and Redbridge, the club confirmed. Lawless made 66 appearances for the Daggers since joining them as a free agent in 2023. A club spokesman said the club extends its thanks to Conor for his efforts and commitment during his time with the Daggers and wishes him every success in the future. The midfielder played once for the Royals before joining Luton Town in 2021, though he made nearly 70 appearances in the Reading academy scoring four goals. He joined Luton Town but never made a senior appearance, during his time with the Hatters he would go on two loan spells. The first with Farnborough between February and March 2023, where he made five appearances. His second loan spell was with Dulwich Hamlet between March and June 2023 where he made seven appearances. Conor then joined Dagenham and Redbridge as a free agent that summer. Andy Carroll's side will now look to replace Lawless. Lawless's departure comes as the club looks to rebuild ahead of the new season. The Royals will be hoping to improve on their recent performances, with Lawless's former teammates looking to make a push for promotion. Reading's academy has produced several talented players in recent years, and the club will be hoping to see more graduates make the step up to the first team. Lawless's experience playing for the Daggers will have been invaluable, and he will be looking to put that to use in his future career. The midfielder's next move is unclear, but he will be looking to find a new club where he can play regular football.
