While Reading have added four new faces this summer, Sutton questioned whether their core can stay fit and consistent. Goalkeeper Joel Pereira, defender Paudie O’Connor, and wing-back Haydon Roberts form a solid spine, but Marriott’s conversion rate of 16 goals from an xG of 7.2 may prove unsustainable. Sutton’s verdict: “Results might suggest progress, but performances suggest a drop-off.”
