Reading FC will play their League One fixture at Wycombe Wanderers this Saturday as scheduled, with manager Leam Richardson choosing not to request a postponement despite losing three players to international call-ups.

Andy Rinomhota, Jeriel Dorsett and Charlie Savage are all set to miss the match at Adams Park. Rinomhota has been selected by Zimbabwe for Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Dorsett will represent Montserrat in matches against the British Virgin Islands and the Turks and Caicos Islands. Savage has returned to the Wales squad for UEFA Nations League matches.

Richardson confirmed the decision, which keeps the Royals' schedule intact. "First of all, congratulations to the three lads who received international call-ups," the manager said. "It's a fantastic achievement for them and a proud moment for the club."

He explained the reasoning behind playing the game. "We considered the circumstances carefully and, on this occasion, felt it was right to play the game," Richardson stated. "Football is a squad game and we have confidence in the players available to us, while keeping the fixture in place also helps us avoid adding another game to an already busy schedule. It's better for the supporters too. Saturday afternoon is the ideal time to play football whenever circumstances allow, so we were pleased to keep this one in place."

Reading head into the local derby on the back of a home win over Notts County. Their next fixture after Wycombe is against league leaders Bradford City, which is currently expected to go ahead as planned. The match is a local derby, with the last meeting ending in a draw at the Select Car Leasing Stadium. Fewer than 100 tickets remain for the away trip, with sales currently open to Lite and Essential members.

The club also confirmed that their following weekend's fixture against league leaders Bradford City is currently expected to go ahead as planned, with supporters to be informed if circumstances change.

The club wished Rinomhota, Dorsett and Savage the best of luck for their international assignments. Richardson will now turn to the depth of his squad for the trip to face Wycombe.
