Reading FC is excited to confirm that its women's team will return home ahead of the 2026/27 season. After being withdrawn from the Championship two years ago, the Women's First Team will now train at Bearwood Park and play selected home matches at the Select Car Leasing Stadium. This move comes after former Wycombe Wanderers owner Rob Couhig finalized an agreement to buy Reading in 2025, ending a controversial era under Yongge. The Supporters' Trust at Reading (STAR) had previously criticized the withdrawal of the women's team, emphasizing its impact on community and gender equality. The new structure will also include the club's Under-16s and Under-14s sides, creating a clear pathway for young female players. Co-operating manager Rick Catania highlighted the importance of having a women's football club as part of the community. The club aims to restore the prestige and success of its women's team, which has a proud history in the sport. Additionally, Reading FC plans to live stream Women's First Team fixtures on its official YouTube channel, further engaging fans and supporters.
